Case in point – the site didthecavswinlastnight.com has generated over 11,000 Facebook “likes” and nearly 1000 Tweets.
(A little background for those who don’t follow basketball as closely as I do… the Cleveland Cavaliers are in the midst of the longest losing streak in NBA history. As of February 10, they’ve lost 26 straight.)
Now, most web sites require a little more text than this… but you get the idea. Some of the most effective sites on the web are incredibly simple… the classic example is the Google Search home page. Just because it’s easy to place a Facebook widget and a YouTube video and a running feed of your latest tweets and a slide show of your favorite Flickr images on your home page doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea.
